Seve’s 9-hole course in Real Golf de Pedreña, to only irrigate tees and green complexes, aiming to minimize the area under irrigation. 30 years later, this is a tendency in golf course irrigation that improves sustainability and water conservation, making it be ahead of its time. Today, it is an honour to support the Club in the process of updating their irrigation system using up-to-date and efficient technologies.
We could not be happier to have returned to Colombia to conduct the course “water movement through soil in golf courses”, organized by the Colombian Golf Federation and held in the renown Carmel Country Club de Bogotá. The course was a complete success with a large turnout and it has meant a unique and incomparable experience to us.
Last June we visited one of the leading golf courses at the Costa del Sol, the Real Club de Golf Las Brisas, to perform a comprehensive irrigation audit. The visit was carried out during the course maintenance week to not disturb the members while playing. Now it is time to work on an action plan that will be mainly focused on improvements in the pump station.
We visited Empordà Golf carrying a drone, 2 GPS equipment and a robotic total station. Teamwork combining drone technology with more traditional topographical methods allow us to complete the irrigation system & golf course topographical survey in record time, and therefore to reduce its cost.
We went through the key points for a successful turf reduction strategy that allows for a reduction of the total irrigated area while improving the quality of the golf course and the golfer experience. All these, in a AEGG (Spanish Association of Club Managers) masterclass, where four members of the AEdG (Spanish association of Greenkeepers), contributed with their experience and vision in the matter.
Destiny has made us a beautiful present and we visit the Real Golf of Pedreña, the home course of legend Severiano Ballesteros, to perform an irrigation audit. The aim of the audit was to evaluate the existing situation: what is current condition of the installation, and where we want it to be in the future
A turning point in the Club’s water management strategy. We share details and particularities of the pump station at La Peñaza. A state of art pump station, digitalized and highly efficient.
We have carried out an intense and meticulous work together with the greenkeeping and irrigation team at RSHECC, so that the flow management by the central computer is carried out according to the reality of the existing system.
We supervise and certify the irrigation renovation works on holes 4 and 13. This is part of a full irrigation system renovation of 18 holes that is being run in phases.
